Ian McIntyre is the head men's soccer coach at Syracuse University. On January 6, 2010, he was named as the 15th soccer coach in school history. He previously coached at Hartwick College from 2003 to 2009, posting four 10 win seasons. He compiled a 71-36-25 record as the head coach of the Hawks. He posted stellar records as the Hawks head coach, going 15-2-1, and 13-3-3 in his first two seasons.
He started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Fairfield University, where he coached from 1996 to 1998. Fairfield was highly successful during that time making it to the championship game of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference two consecutive seasons, and reaching the national rankings. He then went to Onteonta, New York, to become the head coach at Onteonta State, where he compiled a 36-28-7 record.
He was also an all-american soccer player at Hartwick himself. He led the Hawks to a 52-20-7 record with two NCAA tournament appearances. He finished his career with 18 goals and 10 assists.
